The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, is the world's largest livestock exhibition as well as the world's largest rodeo event. This 20 day event is held at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas. The show features bull riding, livestock judging, concerts, a parade, 5k walk & run, a carnival, trail rides, pig racing, barbecue and wine competitions, shopping, sales, and auctions. Traditional trail rides, which start in different areas of Texas and end in Houston, precede the Rodeo events. Houston celebrates this event with "Go Texan Days" where residents are encouraged to dress in western wear.
Since the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was established, it has made an impressive footprint on the livestock and entertainment industries and in the sport of rodeo. It also has played a notable role in enhancing the lives of thousands of young people in the state of Texas.
